SPTechCon Coming to Cambridge This Week

October 20 through 22, the SharePoint Technical Conference, affectionately known as SPTechCon, is coming to Cambridge, MA. Given that Microsoft is not running its own SharePoint Conference this year, SPTechCon will be one of the bigger and better SharePoint-related conferences of 2010, and we’re fortunate to have it in our backyard.

[Of course, before we get to Cambridge, we have to deliver our monthly KMA Insights webinar. This month’s topic is “ SharePoint Beyond the Firewall: Creating Web Sites with SharePoint” and my colleague Derek Cash-Peterson will be leading the discussion Wednesday 10/20, at 12:30 ET.]

KMA is a sponsor of this year’s SPTechCon, and I look forward to taking in as much of it as my schedule will allow. Among the events I’m most interested in are:

• The Expo Hall Attendee Reception, Thursday evening 10/21, from 5:45 to 7:30 pm, a great place to meet some of the key speakers and attendees.
• The Boston Area SharePoint User Group (BASPUG) October meeting, a panel discussion featuring some very prominent SharePoint speakers, immediately following the reception. (note: this event is sold out — see the BASPUG site for details)
• My colleague Chris McNulty’s presentation Friday afternoon, Session 904: ‘Core Collaboration in SharePoint 2010.”
• The unofficial closing ceremonies for SPTechCon, a “SharePint” my KMA colleagues will be enjoying with some clients and guests after the conference closes on Friday.

A summary of KMA’s activities at, and related to, SPTechCon, can be found here. As with nearly every event of this type, it’s the people who make it worthwhile, and many luminaries of the SharePoint world are presenting and attending. I hope to see you there!
